The Lions are offering a FREE vision screening for the children of Central City School on Friday, March 22nd. The Lions of District 1-CN have purchased a SPOT Vision Scanner to better serve the people in our District. SPOT is a new standard in vision screening that quickly and easily detects vision issues across all age groups starting at six months old. The SPOT scanner is powered by sophisticated technology that can detect the potential indication of the following major vision issues:
• Unequal pupil size
• Unequal refractive power
• Eye misalignment
In just seconds, SPOT provides a comprehensive, reliable analysis that indicates if vision is within normal range or if a vision issue is detected. Early detection of a child’s vision problem increases the likely hood of effective treatment. A SPOT screening can alert parents to a vision problem that may have been over looked.
The SPOT scanner is a camera and computer all in one small unit. It takes a picture of the eyes at from about three feet away. No physical contact is made with the person being screened and no type of eye drop is used. The screening results can be printed or downloaded on a flash drive and left with you for your records.
This is a FREE service being offered to you by the Central City Lions Club and the Lions of District 1-CN. As children develop and change, so can their vision. It’s appropriate to conduct vision screenings regularly throughout the years. We are excited to utilize this tool to catch vision problems early & improve the sight of our youth.
